ERIN: CHARLESTON WEDDING VIOLINISTErin's Background: As the daughter of a classical pianist, Erin has always been a lover of music and the creative arts. For the past twelve years she has performed professionally for weddings in both the solo and ensemble setting, accompanied praise & worship bands throughout the Charleston area, and has been featured on the albums of local indie artists including Joel T. Hamilton & Mechanical River, Slow Runner, and Run Dan Run. We are grateful that she is a part of the Lowcountry Pianist & Company team and we enjoyed getting to know her better through our recent interview! Q: What is your favorite quote? "Only a life lived for others is life worthwhile." - Albert Einstein Q: What do you do at Lowcountry Pianist & Company? "I play violin for professional events (including weddings, luncheons, bridal shows, etc.)" Q: What has been your favorite performing experience? "New Year's Eve... I played with a fantastic group of musicians, including Holly Slice, at a retirement home in Mt. Pleasant. It was so fun 'partying' and dancing with residents. I loved seeing the smiles on their faces as they remembered all their past New Years' and listened to the tunes from that year." Q: What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? "I have been playing the violin since elementary school and continued my studies through college. I graduated from the College of Charleston music department and have been performing as a professional violinist since 2007. I have played in a variety of different genres and venues including traditional and un-traditional weddings, contemporary and traditional worship services, rock bands, and recording studios." Q: Your top 3 favorite books or movies? "I love the Lord of The Rings and Chronicles of Narnia series -- so much adventure and magic!" Q: What are the values that drive you? "Kindness, creativity, excellence, and eternal purpose." Q: What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? "My daughter is the light of my life and I enjoy spending time with her. I also enjoy a strong cup of french press coffee, dark chocolate, and deep conversation with close friends." Q: Where is your favorite place to be in the world? "My grandmother's house. It is full of happy and loving memories from my childhood and still is a place of peace and comfort." Q: Who inspires you? "My mother inspires me. I think she is the strongest, most self-less, smartest, and most graciously beautiful woman in the world. I hope live a life worthy of her sacrifices." Q: What do you like about working at Lowcountry Pianist & Company? "I love the "vibe" of Lowcountry Pianist. Everyone who works for the team is passionate and professional. It's an attitude of "I get to come to work" not "I have to come to work." I think that is why the service and experience for the client is of such high quality."
