Vanessa began playing the cello as a child in Denver, Colorado, studying with Jurgen DeLemos. She's a graduate of Vassar College and Washington University in St Louis. She is principal cellist of the Mt. Pleasant Symphony and has held a contract with the Long Bay Symphony for several years. She also has performed locally with the Summerville Orchestra, the Summerville Orchestra Quartet, and North Charleston Pops. She loves chamber music best (of all classical music!). She's studied Celtic cello with Abby Newton, and plays rock-n-roll cello with the Charlotte Burn-Outs. She's comfortable as a soloist or with a group, and considers the cello the most beautiful and versatile of instruments! Recordings, coming soon! |
