Guitarist
Philip was born in Spain. Being a military kid his family moved around a lot exposing him to many cultures. At 14 he picked up the electric guitar, played at his high-school talent show and later started playing around town with his band.
Later in life, Philip picked up a flamenco guitar on a visit to Spain. His love for fingerstyle guitar began here. He immersed himself in many genres that suited the nylon string guitar, including Brazilian guitar genres like Bossa Nova, flamenco rumbas, jazz, Latin, and fingerstyle covers of American pop music.
Philip plays in a flute & guitar duo and a violin & guitar duo at weddings, restaurants and private events. He has played solo guitar at venues like Benni’s at Peninsula Grill and 5 star venues like Jasmine Porch at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island.
Philip creates guitar arrangements and gives lessons. He publishes his sheet music arrangements through Hal Leonard, Sheet Music Plus, and Sheet Music Direct.
