Marissa is a professional musician specializing in harp, piano, flute, and voice. Marissa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication-Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a minor in Musical Theatre and has been performing since she was 10 years old.
Marissa absolutely loves music and wherever she has lived she works to teach and share that love with the world. She grew up in Minneapolis in a very musical family surrounded by easy access to performing opportunities, then moved to Wyoming in 2010 where she had to grow and adapt her skills to fit the less classical musical climate! Marissa has played her harp for weddings since 1995. She performs on which ever harp fits your venue and musical choices; either a Lyon and Healy concert grand, single action Fischer Harfe from Germany, and is soon to purchase a “harpsicle.” From classical to celtic, beatles to broadway, sacred, contemporary and gospel, Marissa covers all the musical bases. Additionally, Marissa has worked as an accompanist for solo musicians and singers, and elementary, high school, and church choirs. She has also served as the contemporary worship leader, choir director and bell choir director for the Riverton United Methodist Church, and the Pavilion Community Church, and has served on the worship team, leading worship at every church she’s attended since 2010. Finally, is an accomplished theatrical performer, having performed in over 29 productions over the years, and worked as the musical director, accompanist, orchestra conductor, assistant director and assistant choreographer for the Central Wyoming College theatre program from 2014-2021. She is glad to be a part of the Lowcountry Pianist & Company team providing music for a wide variety of events! |
