Guitarist, Native American Flutist, Harmonica, and Vocalist
Delia has performed for many years from the East to the West Coast. She draws her musical influence from R. Carlos Nakai, Aaron Neville, Ella Fitzgerald and countless others. Her style of performing has been compared to Joan Armatrading, Tracey Chapman, Joan Baez and Etta James. She has completed a Native American Instrumental album, which draws from both her Mexican American & Native heritage. Delia graduated with a masters degree in psychology and music therapy from Naropa University. She recently retired as a mental health therapist with the Charleston Veteran Affairs Office and continues to work with veterans experiencing PTSD through providing group guitar lessons. Her performances include Piccolo Festival World Blues Cafe, Circular Church’s Jazz Vespers series, Mount Pleasant and Charleston Farmers Markets, and more. Additionally she has received the Brownie Award for Favorite Acoustic Act. Delia is grateful to be a part of the Lowcountry Pianist & Company team, providing music for retirement communities, funerals, weddings, and other special events! |
