- Edie -
Pianist
|
Edie began piano lessons at the age of five and has been making music ever since. She studied piano with Dr. Karen Wilson for fourteen years and began accompanying choirs, instrumentalists, and vocalists around the age of twelve.
With decades of accompanying experience, Edie has played for church choirs and congregational worship, school ensembles, festivals, competitions, weddings, and other special events. She has also performed numerous piano solos for competitions and church services and has accompanied her daughters for performances at Piccolo Spoleto. Edie currently serves as a church choir pianist and regularly accompanies instrumentalists and vocalists. She has also performed piano and percussion with the Summerville Orchestra and has taught piano in the past. Although music has been a lifelong pursuit, Edie's academic and professional background extends beyond the piano. She earned both her undergraduate in pre-law and master's degree in English while serving in the Navy Reserves and went on to teach college English. One of Edie's greatest joys is sharing music with her two daughters, Cecily and Pearl. Together, they regularly provide music for churches, weddings, and special events. |
When she isn't at the piano or accompanying her girls, Edie enjoys traveling, discovering new music, listening to health podcasts, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a certified holistic nutritionist with a passion for making wholesome food delicious -- and, by her own admission, she rarely turns down good conversation or dark chocolate!
